WEBA Division 1 Champions

Massive congratulations to the Sighthill ‘A’ team on successfully retaining the West of Edinburgh Bowling Association Division 1 title.
A club successfully retaining the title last happened in 2017 & 2018 leagues by Slateford BC who, incidentally were the last remaining club who could catch us this year.

Well done to all the players and of course the subs who stepped in when required.

Uddingston Triples

A bus load of Sighthill members travelled through to Uddingston for the annual triples competition. The weather held up despite the forecast of rain with only a couple of very light showers which lasted 10 minutes each.

The teams results were pretty sporadic throughout the event but in the end two Sighthill teams got through to the semi finals.
Stuart Syme, Sean Kelly and Adam Melrose got through narrowly before Gordon Macintosh, Andy Duff and Ewen Macintosh with equal points but a 5 shot advantage.
Robbie Hendry, Ross Hendry and Ryan Ironside got to the semis with a straight 5 game winning streak.

Adam and co won their semi final against Bothwell Bowling Club while Ryan and co won their semi against Uddingston Bowling Club setting up an all Sighthill BC final (naturally).

So, with the money in the bag for Sighthill it was only the bragging rights to play for. The final was a very well played match. All bowlers played well and it was a great game despite what the score line suggests.
In the end, Robbie Hendry, Ross Hendry and Ryan Ironside won the Uddingston Triples 7-0.

Congratulations to Robbie, Ross and Ryan and commiserations to Stuart, Sean and Adam.
