Sighthill cup result

And it’s a win for the Dodger…

Congratulations to the Dodger players and commiserations to Sighthill. It was a great final and everyone played great and played in great spirits.

The majority of the day played in brilliant sunshine and every competitor played 100% in the spirit of the tournament, a fun day enjoyed by all.

A big thanks to John McDermott for making the draw and ensuring all games were played in a timely manner.

Roll on next year!

Sighthill cup 2022

The sighthill cup has started and here are all the competitors posing before the tears start to roll.

Sas taking the knee for underprivileged people everywhere including hippopotamuses everywhere who for obvious reasons just can’t.

Good luck to everyone today and obviously may the best team win (Dodger 🤞)

Forsyth pairs

Congratulations to Hilda Melrose and David Ferguson on winning the Forsyth pairs.
A downpour of rain stopped play midway but only for about 20 minutes or so and nobody let it dampen (sorry) their spirits on the day.
Well done to everyone who participated to make it another great competition this year.

Important announcement

The ‘cost of living’ crisis is now starting to have an impact on the Club.

Our suppliers costs have risen, our 20% discount with Sky has finished so our monthly bill will increase by at least £250. Gas and Water are up and our electricity monthly bill has just risen from £1000 a month to £3000 a month.

As treasurer I have a duty and with these increases on our monthly expenditure I have decided, with Committee approval, that from Monday 15 August 2022 there will be a 20p increase on ALL alcohol drinks. The members specials will also have to stop. A further review of the prices will be carried out at the end of the bowling season. The increase still leaves the Club cheaper than the surrounding establishments.

It is to be expected that our footfall will fall once the bowling season finishes but our outgoing costs will remain the same or may increase further so I have to make sure that I am acting in the best interests of the Club.
