Bowls Scotland Statement

A statement from Bowls Scotland:

“Bowls Scotland welcome yesterday’s Scottish Government announcement and the new details within the Strategic Framework which outlines the nations easing out of lockdown.

This was undoubtedly positive news for our sport as bowlers will be able to get back out on the green, at their club, for the season beginning next month. We are now working with
Sportscotland
and the Scottish Government to finalise our comprehensive Return to the Green COVID-19 guidance for clubs.
We are confident that we will be able to publish guidance and resources at the start of next week. In addition, this information allows us to refine our competition scenario planning and the Bowls Scotland Board of Directors will meet tomorrow evening to make a final decision on the competitive season. It is our intention to inform clubs of this by the end of this week.
In the meantime, please continue to stay safe and adhere to the current guidelines in place.”

There are a few options to pay fees:
Should you need the bank details then please contact either Davy Connelly (mob-07837838510) or John Green (mob-07984444400).
Cash or cheque can be dropped off through the Club letterbox or cheque posted to the Club.

The Committee will be meeting after the next update from the First Minister so will update you with more information then but if you have questions then let me know.
So take care everyone and hope to see you all soon.

Congratulations Nicky Mackay

Congratulations to Nicky Mackay who won the Sighthill Ladder 2020 competition.

Nicky and Robbie Hendry played today what was a terrific final. Nicky led 3-0 before Robbie fought back to level at 3-3. Nicky then furthered his lead to 5-3 but again Robbie fought back to level once more at 5-5.

The final end was close but Nicky edged it to win 6-5.

A thoroughly enjoyable final and Nicky has promised to buy every member a drink 🤣, ….ok, maybe not.
