New Website Content

Hello all,

There is now an additional menu item on the website. You will now see an ‘Events’ section on the main (top) menu with two sub menus called ‘Bowling’ and ‘Members’.

The Bowling section will display a calendar with all bowls events pertaining to the bowling club. These include internal competitions, league competitions and any other bowls games that are relevant to Sighthill Bowling Club. (at least the ones that I am told about 😉

The Members section will display a calendar which will show any members only nights in the hall etc. These will include any member entertainment nights (80’s night, cabaret, Xmas party, etc).
It is currently empty due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions but hopefully it will be populated with events soon when we are back to a bit more normality
These are only viewable to website members, not anybody that is not registered on the website. Also the calendars do not and will not show any privately booked events like birthday parties, anniversaries, funeral bookings, etc.

I’m trying to make the website as informative and as useful to all members as I can. If you have any ideas or suggestions for content on the website then please see me, Robbie, at the club or drop me an email to help@sighthillbc.co.uk and i’ll check with the committee for approval.

That’s it.

Have a good day

Opening Day 2

Morning all

Opening day on Saturday went very well. There was a great turn out for the announcement of John House as President and Dougie McKay as Vice President.

The sun was out for a while and many took part in the bowling. Was great to see so many faces back at the Club.

As the evening progressed we dropped our guard a little regarding the current restrictions that are in place so can I remind everyone that even though the bar is open it is for OUTSIDE drinking only.

Please remember it is mandatory to wear your face mask whilst inside the Club unless medically exempt.

It is only two weeks until the 17th May and inside drinking can then take place so let’s not risk any sanctions or fines to the Club by sticking to the current rules in place.

Opening Day

Club Announcement

Morning all

It’s been a long time coming and I can confirm that from Monday 26th April at 15:00 the bar is OPEN. Please remember this is for drinking alcohol OUTSIDE. The bar will close at 22:00. Your barmaid will be Connie Reynolds.

Members are also able to sign in ONE guest.

Please remember that EVERYONE has to sign in when you enter the Club. The track and trace book is at the front door.

Enter the bar to buy your pint or alcoholic drink and leave by the fire door to get outside. Please remember to wear your mask whilst in the Club.

It’s been a long 6 months since the bar has been closed and it’s been great seeing so many back bowling over the past two weekends and will be even better from tomorrow with that pint in your hand.

Until then…….cheers

Open For Bowling

The Committee met on Saturday to finalise plans for getting back to bowling. Delighted to announce the following:

The Club will be open for bowling from 10:00 on Saturday 17th April. PLEASE NOTE IT IS MEMBERS ONLY.

Make sure you have your fob to gain access as there is no one in the Club to open the door.

Enter the Club via the main door. Sign the track and trace book. You will have access to the locker rooms to get changed and get your bowls. Access also for the toilets. Please remember the Club is still closed and we are only open for bowling.

All 6 rinks are available on B green and if all 6 are being played on then some rinks will be made available on A green. As you know A green is still not ready but will be in a week or two.

The Club will be open for bowling on Sunday from 10:00 and again ITS MEMBERS ONLY. Remember your fob.

Sheets are also on the noticeboard for the Presidents Trophy, 2 Bowl, Handicap, Nominated Pairs and Triples so get your names up if you want in.

A further communication will be issued for when the bar opens on Monday 26th April for outside alcohol. Again this will be MEMBERS ONLY at this time. Please do NOT turn up with guests as they will only be asked, politely, to leave.

Any questions then please contact a Committee member.

Look forward to seeing the bowlers on Saturday.
